The surreal and psychedelic paintings of landscapes and animals by Vasko Taškovski

Vasko Taškovski is a Macedonia borned artist whose themes lie around surreal landscapes, generally built on figures of animals (especially horses, the artist seems to like them a lot). His landscapes are sometimes fun and cheerful, with bright colors inspired by beaches, the sun and the sea, and other times they are more grimm, as if they were landscapes from other worlds or dimensions.

One aspect that I appreciated in Taškovski's paintings is his use of colors. His mixings of colors creates images almost psychedelic. Another aspect that you have to pay attention is his misticism, that is generally not the center of his art, but is almost always present, e.g. a landscape formed by a saint figure or one of his most known series, the surreal zodiac, where each symbol of a zodiac sign is used as inspiration to create a surreal landscape.
